State Representative Rashida Tlaib (Detroit) discusses the need to protect consumers from abusive insurance practices know as "bad faith" or "wrongful denial" at a press conference at the Capitol on August 19, 2009. Tlaib was joined by lawmakers and supporters to discuss legislation to outlaw the practices, which are tactics to delay or deny legitimate insurance claims in order to maximize a company's profits.
